Welcome to the Ekstrand Neuroimaging Lab at the University of Lethbridge, established July 2020! |
Understanding how the human brain processes the “real-world” around us is one of the biggest challenges in the field of neuroscience. To study real-world processing, our lab uses complex, naturalistic stimuli such as audiovisual movies, videogames, and immersive virtual reality. Our research combines behavioural, neuroimaging, and computational techniques to understand how the brain processes the complex, multisensory world around us. We are also interested in how different behavioural and pathological traits shape brain activity patterns, as well as understanding relationships between brain structure and function.
